Tom accomplished their goals as a company that gives back to
others in One for One.
The way they did this is by choosing a product that everyone
wants and needs: shoes and eyewear.
They also made these shoes stylish and comfortable, so
people are going to buy them regardless. They have made so many varieties of
the shoes that cater to any fashion.
They also chose to use the sympathy mechanism of children to
make people feel bad for shoeless children. People buy the shoes because it
helps children who don’t have shoes.
Giving away shoes to children is also a fun charity in
general. It is not something that makes people extremely sad. The videos that
Toms markets are all videos of the staff members and the children having fun
together. Although it is sad that many children in the world are shoeless, it
is not a serious medical or abusive problem. This lightens up the mood for
consumers. They are having fun because Toms is having fun.
They also have accomplished their goals by having the
opportunity for consumers to provide feedback so they can improve.
Toms does not only give shoes to one specific locations. It
looks at specific locations where children are in need of shoes. They then
target that location.
