Evaluation
Tom accomplished their goals as a company that gives back to
others in One for One.
The way they did this is by choosing a product that everyone
wants and needs: shoes and eyewear.
They also made these shoes stylish and comfortable, so
people are going to buy them regardless. They have made so many varieties of
the shoes that cater to any fashion.
They also chose to use the sympathy mechanism of children to
make people feel bad for shoeless children. People buy the shoes because it
helps children who don’t have shoes.
Giving away shoes to children is also a fun charity in
general. It is not something that makes people extremely sad. The videos that
Toms markets are all videos of the staff members and the children having fun
together. Although it is sad that many children in the world are shoeless, it
is not a serious medical or abusive problem. This lightens up the mood for
consumers. They are having fun because Toms is having fun.
They also have accomplished their goals by having the
opportunity for consumers to provide feedback so they can improve.
Toms does not only give shoes to one specific locations. It
looks at specific locations where children are in need of shoes. They then
target that location.
Goals
TOMS motto is ONE for ONE and their ultimate goal is that for each pair of shoes or sunglasses purchased, they will provide to someone in need. When a pair of shoes is purchased, another pair is then donated to a child in need and when a pair of sunglasses is purchased a person in need either receives a pair of prescription glass, sight-saving surgery or treatment depending on their specific needs. Therefore, TOMS ultimate goal is to improve the health and improve the quality of life of these individuals

Press release from Toms

One Day Without Shoes to Take Place on April 5, 2011
One for One™ Company
Hopes to Get One Million People Around the World to Go Without Shoes to Raise
Awareness for Children in Need
In this article Toms is trying to
promote one of their products. The way that they are doing this is to ask
people to go with out shoes for a day. This is to raise awareness of the impact
a pair of shoes can have on a child’s life. What they are trying to promote
here is there one for one campaign, where if you buy a pair of shoes another
pair of shoes will be brought for a child in a less privileged area of the
world.
TOMS' Founder and Chief
Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie said, "The problem is large but the solution is
simple. Wearing shoes and basic hygiene can prevent both infection and
disease due to unsafe roads and contaminated soil. By imagining a life without
shoes, we can all contribute to the awareness of these conditions, which is why
we ask everyone to join TOMS on April 5 and participate in One Day Without
Shoes."

Media analysis
Toms shoes heavily relies on social media to spread awareness
instead of traditional advertising. Founder of Toms Shoes Blake Mycoskie stated
in an interview with NBC that his company would not have been able to exist 10
years ago. “With the One for One model, traditional media is too expensive”, he
stated. Instead Toms Shoes relies on the community to market the product.
Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the Toms website
are the most effective platforms used by the company. Traditional forms of
media such as billboards and print ads would be the least effective method for
Toms to use. Not only is it not cost efficient, the target audience would not
be reached through these channels.

TOMS motto is ONE for ONE and their ultimate goal is that for each pair of shoes or sunglasses purchased, they will provide to someone in need. For every pair of shoes you purchase, Toms will give a new pair to a child in need. Tom's motto is "One for One." Toms Shoes provides many impoverished children in developing countries with comfortable footwear that they wouldn't normally have access to.
